Hello everyone,
The sound design for Mara: The Seal Wife is now truly well on the way and promises to give the film an extra special touch. Our film will also be mixed in 5.1 surround sound which will add to the cinematic experience.
During our first shoot way back in May last year the weather disrupted our shoot far more than expected and led us to having to create a 3rd mini shoot in July to add to our final shoot in September. Each shoot brought its own challenges often due to the weather and we had to adapt to whatever nature threw at us. Shooting schedules were often changed, scenes were rewritten, some scenes were lost and others added, such is the nature of independent filmmaking. Thankfully the story survived intact but it was very much shaped by the weather and we are thankful for what nature gave us in the end. During our May shoot after several scenes were cancelled we found ourselves one evening on Hosta beach in North Uist shooting b-roll footage, some of which had found its way into the final edit and some of the unused footage you can see here along with a small sample of the music from our film...
We will update you on progress towards the end of January. In the meantime we wish you all the best for the festive season and the New Year.
Best wishes,
The Mara Team
